Key UCAS Deadlines for 2026 Entry
Timing is critical. Applications received after the January deadline are not guaranteed “equal consideration” by top-tier universities.
- 15 October 2025: Deadline for Oxbridge, Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary Science
- 14 January 2026: The main “Equal Consideration” deadline for most undergraduate courses
- 26 February 2026: UCAS Extra opens for students holding no offers
- 30 June 2026: The final date for main cycle applications. Anything after this enters Clearing
2026 Personal Statement
For 2026 entry, the single 4,000-character essay has been replaced. You must now answer three specific prompts. StudyIn helps you balance your character counts across:
- Why this course? Your motivations and future career goals.
- Academic Readiness: How your current Indian curriculum (CBSE/ICSE/State Board) prepares you for this degree.
- Extracurricular Evidence: Relevant experiences outside the classroom that demonstrate your skills.
UCAS Clearing
UCAS Clearing is for domestic and international students who are unable to secure an offer from a UK university for three reasons:
- They applied after the deadline
- Exam results fell short of the offer requirements
- No offers were received, or no offers were accepted
Clearing FAQs
When does Clearing start?
2026 Clearing will begin in the first week of July 2026 and end in mid-October.
Is Clearing available to Indian students?
Yes, Clearing is open to all international students.
How does Clearing work?
Clearing is how universities fill up spaces on available courses. You need to contact your university or college to find out if they have vacancies and how to apply.
How do I choose courses when in UCAS Clearing?
UK universities will make online course databases available, but you can only apply for one course at a time.
UCAS Extra
If you received no offers from your five UCAS choices or changed your mind about which courses and institutions to apply to, UCAS Extra allows you to add another choice to your application. UCAS Extra opens each February and lasts until July. If you still do not have an offer after the July deadline, you can enter UCAS Clearing.
UCAS FAQs
Can I apply to UCAS directly?
Yes, but as an official centre, StudyIn provides the “Buzzword” link, which allows us to upload your academic references and track your status in real-time, significantly reducing the risk of administrative errors.
How much does the UCAS application cost?
For the 2026 cycle, the application fee is £28.95 for up to five university choices.
Can I apply to more than five universities?
No, UCAS limits all students to five choices. However, if you receive no offers, UCAS Extra allows you to add a sixth choice between February and July.
Visa & Finance: Essential Updates for Indian Students

| Total for 9 Months | £13,761 | £10,539 |

Note for Indian Applicants: A Tuberculosis (TB) test from a UKVI-approved clinic is mandatory. Additionally, while the Graduate Route (PSW) currently offers 2 years of work rights, applications made after 1 January 2027 will likely be granted for 18 months. Plan your 2026 start with this in mind.
