UK University Supporting Documents

Required Documents for Indian Students: 2026/27 Entry
Undergraduate
- Passport: Clear copy of the photo/information page (valid for your entire stay).
- Academic Transcripts: Class 10th and 12th Marksheets (CBSE, ICSE, or State Boards).
- Predicted Grades: Required if you are currently in Class 12 and haven’t received final results.
- English Proficiency: IELTS (UKVI), TOEFL iBT, or PTE Academic results. Note: Some universities offer waivers for 70%+ in Class 12 English.
- Personal Statement: Must now follow the 2026 three-question format
- Academic Reference: One letter from your current school/college on official letterhead.
- CV/Resume: Highlighting any internships or extracurricular achievements.
Postgraduate (Master’s)
- Degree Certificate: Final or provisional Bachelor’s degree certificate.
- Academic Transcripts: Semester-wise marksheets for all years of undergraduate study.
- Letters of Recommendation (LORs): Usually two (one academic and one professional).
- ATAS Certificate: Mandatory for Indian students in sensitive STEM subjects (Engineering, AI, etc.).
PhD / Research
- Master’s Degree: Certificate and transcripts showing research modules.
- Research Proposal: A structured document (1,500–2,000 words) outlining your project.
- Supervisor Confirmation: Evidence of correspondence with a potential UK supervisor (if required).
Previous UK Education History
If you have previously studied in the UK, you must provide:
- Previous CAS letters and BRP cards (Biometric Residence Permits).
- Progress reports or certificates from previous UK institutions.
- Proof of academic progression (if applying for a new course in the UK).
2026 Visa Financial Requirements
To secure your 2026 Student Visa, you must meet the updated financial maintenance requirements. Funds must be held in your bank account for 28 consecutive days before applying.
- London: £1,529 per month (up to 9 months).
- Outside London: £1,171 per month (up to 9 months).
- TB Test: A mandatory medical certificate from a UKVI-approved clinic in India.
Reference Letters (LORs)
References are a critical part of the 70-point visa system and university admissions. For 2026, universities require highly specific academic or professional references. Ensure your LOR includes:
- Official Letterhead: Must be printed on institutional or company stationery.
- Direct Contact Details: The referee’s official email and phone number for verification.
- Relationship Context: Clear explanation of how long and in what capacity they have known you.
- Academic Evidence: Specific mention of your performance, ranking, or unique projects.
- Official Signature: A hand-signed or verified digital signature of the referee.
