Macquarie University is a public research institution located in Sydney, Australia, known for its focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and real-world impact. Accommodation

Macquarie University offers a range of accommodation opportunities for students, including on-campus and off-campus options. Students can live on campus in dormitory-style residences, private studios, or fully furnished apartments managed by the university and protected with 24/7 on-site security. 

Off-campus accommodation is also available at three residential colleges within walking distance to the university. These are privately run and offer accommodation with all-inclusive rent and fully catered or self-catered options. 

The university also offers a range of short-term accommodation options for students and visitors, including on-campus apartments, dormitories, and guesthouses. International students and students under 18 years of age have the opportunity to choose homestays with a host family supporting them throughout their life in Australia.

For students arriving from overseas, the closest airport is the Sydney International Airport, situated approximately 30km from the campus. Students can take a taxi, the airport shuttle, or the train to travel from the airport to the campus or their accommodation. Students can also opt for the Macquarie University Airport Shuttle Service that provides free travel to Macquarie Park District. 

Located in the suburb of North Ryde, the main campus is approximately 15 kilometres from the centre of Sydney, giving students easy access to the metropolis. From the world-renowned Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge to locally beloved Royal Botanic Gardens, Bondi Beach, and New South Wales Art Gallery, Sydney offers a wealth of attractions to explore as students adapt to life in Australia.
