In our Idiom of the Week series, we will be exploring common English idioms to help you excel in native English.<\/p>\n<h2>Idiom of the Week: Face the music<\/h2>\n<p>To accept the consequences of an action.<\/p>\n<h3>Example 1<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A:\u00a0<\/strong>Is there any way you can tell him instead? He\u2019s going to be really angry with me when he finds out I broke his camera.<\/li>\n<li><strong>B:\u00a0<\/strong>No, I\u2019m afraid not. You took it without asking, and now you need to <strong>face the music<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Example 2<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Question:\u00a0<\/strong>How do you think parents should discipline their children?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Answer:\u00a0<\/strong>I think that depends on the parent and the seriousness of the child\u2019s behaviour. Maybe reducing a child\u2019s privileges or not letting them go out and play is a good way to punish them. I don\u2019t think parents should hit children as that sends a very negative message, but I also think they shouldn\u2019t send the message that there are no consequences to doing something wrong.
