Recently awarded UK University of the Year (Daily Mail University Guide 2026), the University of Strathclyde has been delivering academic excellence through world-class research and teaching for more than 200 years, providing students with flexible, innovative learning in preparation for a competitive environment beyond study.
The university is home to a vibrant, international community of almost 30,000 students from over 140 countries. With an extensive network of global partnerships and international research collaborations, they work with others to drive innovation, address global challenges and create a lasting impact on society and industry for generations to come.
Services
The International Student Support Team offers guidance and information to all registered international students, especially those concerned with immigration and personal issues. They act as a point of contact for other support services and arrange arrival and welcome activities for new international students during the main arrival periods.
Strathclyde’s international community is supported by a range of student-led cultural and social groups. These international societies organise social events, day and weekend tours, international food evenings, music concerts and more. They celebrate festivals and traditions from around the world, helping students stay connected to home cultures while sharing them with the wider Strathclyde community.
Pre-sessional and in-sessional English courses are available, and students are entitled to up to four hours per week of free English language tuition and support. Staff are also available to help with other issues such as visas, employment, and accommodation.
The University’s Careers Service also provides tailored guidance and resources to help international students explore work opportunities, employability skills and plan their future careers.
