Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) is Ireland’s first technological university and the largest higher education institution in the country, with over 28,000 students and more than 3,000 staff. Established in 2019 through the merger of three institutes of technology, it builds on a strong legacy of practice-based education, innovation, and industry collaboration.
The university offers a broad portfolio of programmes across disciplines, including engineering, science, business, law, creative arts, hospitality, and social sciences. A defining feature of TU Dublin is its emphasis on applied learning, with many courses incorporating work placements, industry projects, and professional accreditation pathways.
Research is a growing strength, with over 800 researchers engaged in areas such as sustainability, health technologies, and urban development. The flagship Grangegorman campus serves as a major academic and research hub, designed to foster collaboration in a modern, city-integrated environment.
TU Dublin maintains strong links with industry and international partners, supported by membership of organisations such as the European University Association. Its focus on smaller class sizes and career-oriented education ensures graduates are well-prepared for employment in a competitive global market.
Services
International students are supported through TU Dublin’s International Student Office, which provides guidance from application through to arrival and beyond. Orientation programmes help students adjust to academic life in Ireland, while ongoing support includes visa advice and academic assistance.
Students can access a wide range of services, including counselling, health support, and career development. Academic success is supported through learning centres and skills workshops.
Campus life is active and inclusive, with over 150 clubs and societies covering interests from sport and culture to entrepreneurship and the arts. Regular events, competitions, and social activities help students integrate and build connections across the university community.
