Overview
The University of British Columbia (UBC) was founded in 1915 and is one of the leading educational institutions for research, learning, and teaching in Canada, consistently ranking in the top 10 public universities.
Over 50,000 students, and over 12,000 international students, are enrolled at its Okanagan and Vancouver campuses, studying over 250 undergraduate courses and 240 postgraduate courses. UBC also provides distance education programs in various disciplines. Evidence-based teaching and technical support help students to achieve a higher level of teacher-student engagement.
The University of British Columbia is ranked in the top three universities in Canada and the top 25 public research universities in the world.
Services
In-person international student advice provides academic guidance and consultation to international students with any concerns. In addition, health services are offered to students who need assistance regarding health assessments and treatments.
Orientation programs allow the students to meet new students, professors and become familiar with their new university.

Accommodation
At the Okanagan UBC campus, students can choose from single-connected rooms, single traditional rooms, four-bedroom shared suites, studio suites, and one-bedroom suites. Besides these options, the Vancouver campus also offers nano and six-bedroom suites.
International students can choose accommodation options on campus and off campus. On-campus areas provide access to dining services, WIFI, safety and security, and mail services. They also get access to laundry, health services, and parking spaces in these locations.
Location
The Vancouver campus is located just 30 minutes away from downtown Vancouver and provides students with scenic locations and natural vistas such as snow-capped mountains. The Okanagan campus, based in Kelowna, is more about modern amenities and an intimate learning experience.
Students have access to museums, farms, Nitobe Memorial Garden, and other educational and research centres on both campuses. Students can choose from SkyTrain, transit buses, shared cars, and cycles to move around the campus. Free shuttles are provided to students with mobility issues to get around the campus.
