MBA Programmes

Introduction to UK MBA Degrees for Pakistani Students

UK business schools offer MBA programmes to suit students of every academic background, career stage, and budget, providing an international mix of students, teaching faculty, and professional opportunities that few other countries can match. The UK is home to some of the world’s best business schools in terms of teaching quality and global brand recognition, and a UK MBA carries strong weight with employers in Pakistan and internationally.

An MBA at a UK business school typically takes one year to complete, making it shorter and more cost-effective than the two-year format common in the United States. Part-time and online MBA programmes are also available for those who wish to continue working during their studies.

How Much Does an MBA Cost in the UK?

Tuition fees for UK MBA programmes vary significantly by institution. Most programmes range from around £20,000 to £60,000, with the most prestigious schools such as London Business School charging towards the upper end. A number of institutions also offer lower-cost MBA programmes, making MBA study accessible to a wider range of students. Scholarships and sponsorship from employers are also worth exploring to help offset costs.

MBA Entry Requirements in the UK

Entry requirements vary between business schools. The following are typical requirements for Pakistani students.

Academic and Professional Requirements

  • A recognised undergraduate degree, typically equivalent to a UK upper second-class honours (2:1) or above
  • A minimum of three years of full-time work experience, with most leading programmes preferring five or more years in a managerial or professional role
  • Some schools accept strong candidates with a 2:2 if supported by exceptional work experience

GMAT Requirements

Many UK MBA programmes require applicants to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). The test assesses ability across analytical writing, integrated reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and verbal reasoning. Scores range from 205 to 805, with a score of around 600 typically required for most MBA programmes, and higher scores expected for top-ranked schools. Some business schools also accept the GRE as an alternative.

English Language Requirements

  • IELTS: Overall score of 7.0, with no component below 6.5
  • PTE Academic: Overall score of 67–72
  • TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 100–110
