Introduction to UK Photography Degrees for Indian Students

Studying photography in the UK will help you grow expertise in crucial photography techniques that set you apart from a non-professional. BA Photography

At each level during your study, you will take a contextual studies module that progresses into an experimental approach in the second year. Apart from mandatory modules, you can also choose from a range of elective modules, including 16mm film, printmaking, digital fabrication, AR/VR, InDesign, and more. In the final year, you will be required to produce a major project that reflects professional outcomes independently.

MA Photography

Master’s of Arts in Photography blends facts, distinctive style, and the technical practices that explain the many forms of contemporary photography, be it from a fine art or commercial approach. This postgraduate degree in photography is concerned with communicating stories, emotions, facts, and the aesthetics of a scene captured in a rectangular frame.

The programme emphasises enquiry-led project work, developing independence and autonomy, and building a shared platform for students from multi-disciplinary groups where ideas are challenged, shared, and developed. The duration for this course, in general, is one year.

Graduate Photography Careers

Career options for photography graduates include advertising art director, film/video editor, press photographer, television camera operator, model photographer, wildlife photographer, or Media planner. Because of the broad nature of the profession, employment opportunities are available at various companies and sectors, and salaries are very competitive.

Photography UK Entry Requirements

  • Typical International Baccalaureate requirements: 30 points.
  • Typical IELTS requirements: 6.5 overall, with no lower than 6.0 in any one component.
