Overview

The Royal Agricultural University is the oldest agricultural college in the English-speaking world and has four separate schools hosting undergraduate, postgraduate and foundation courses in agriculture, business, equine and real estate & land management.

The Royal Agricultural University has been a leader in agricultural studies since its formation in 1845, and now hosts over 1,000 students every year from 40 different countries. The University maintains strong links with industry, offering work placements and unique networking opportunities to all.

The RAU has one of the highest levels of spending per student and an excellent rating of 82% in the National Student Survey for teaching excellence and 85.6% for the student experience, as rated by final year students. 97.5% of Royal Agricultural University graduates are in employment or further study within six months of leaving.

Services

International students are offered to take part in a special orientation programme upon arrival at the University. It includes:

The RAU’s overall results recorded 52% of the University’s research is classed as 3* or 4*, meaning it is world-leading or internationally excellent. In addition, half of the University’s scientific publications were deemed to be of international quality.

All first-year students are offered a place in The Royal Agricultural University halls of residence, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Known as the ‘Oxbridge of the Countryside', the RAU campus is located in the scenic countryside of the Cotswolds. Cirencester is just 90 minutes away from London via direct train.
