The IELTS exam is not topic based, and as such you are not marked on your knowledge of a particular issue, subject or topic.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gostudyin-dev.com\/canada\/study-in-uk\/institutes\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto\" src=\"http:\/\/www.studyin-uk.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/ielts-lessons-london-1024x303.jpg\"  width=\"737\" height=\"218\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There is an important point to remember though; if you do know about the topic, it is easier to talk about it confidently. Next week we will be looking at common topics which do feature in the IELTS test and test in general, but today we will eliminate subjects you will not be asked about. These conversion subjects tend to be ones which people hold strong opinion on, and as such they are avoided in the exam.<\/p>\n<h2>Four topics not in the IELTS exam<\/h2>\n<h3>1. Religion<\/h3>\n<p>You won\u2019t find any questions about religion in the IELTS test. Some people have very strong religious beliefs, and some people aren\u2019t religious at all.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Example: \u201cAre you religious?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2. Politics<\/h3>\n<p>Although many IELTS topics are also political issues, it is unlikely that you will hear any questions about international politics.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Example: \u201cDo you think Donald Trump is a good president?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>3. Race<\/h3>\n<p>Racism is a hot topic around the world and a lot of people have strong opinions surrounding this issue.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Example: \u201cDo you think the police ever target ethnic minorities unfairly?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>4. Popular culture<\/h3>\n<p>Popular culture is shifting all the time, so although you might see questions about music or movies, they won\u2019t be too specific.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Example of what might be in the test: \u201cWhat kind of music do you like?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Example of what will not be in the test: \u201cDo you like Justin Bieber?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So, overall we can see what sort of questions we are unlikely to see on the <a href=\"https:\/\/gostudyin-dev.com\/canada\/study-in-uk\/institutes\/\">IELTS<\/a>\u00a0exam.
