Overview
The University of Suffolk is situated at the heart of the historic and regenerated Ipswich waterfront, with cutting-edge facilities, highly rated teaching, and excellent graduate prospects. The University of Suffolk embodies the principles of transformation, collaboration, and choice. Offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Arts, Business, Social Sciences, Humanities, Technology, Health, and Sciences.

Gaining independent university status in 2016, the University is challenging longer-established institutions, being awarded University of the Year in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2025, and climbing 71 places in the Complete University Guide over the past four years.
According to the latest Graduate Outcomes survey conducted by HESA, 90% of the University of Suffolk graduates were in employment or further study fifteen months after graduating.
Services
The University of Suffolk has a dedicated Student Life team that supports international students with all aspects of university life. Free English language and academic writing classes are available to all students, including one-to-one consultation sessions. New international students will be assigned a mentor to guide them through the first few months of life in Suffolk.
The University is also home to the International Student Community Café, which provides a forum for international students to meet and support one another, engage with Student Services, and enjoy a varied calendar of events specifically designed for international students throughout the year.
The University has pioneered an innovative learning and teaching style known as Block and Blend, which has improved student attainment.

Whether you want to live in halls of residence or in a shared house off campus, the University of Suffolk can recommend accommodation to suit a range of needs and budgets.
Athena Hall is the on-campus hall of residence in Ipswich, close to the Waterfront and James Hehir buildings. Local shops and amenities are close by, and the town centre is just a ten-minute walk away. Athena Hall houses almost 600 students and offers a mixture of flats and studio rooms.

Packed with shops, independent boutiques, restaurants, pubs, and cafes, Ipswich is just over an hour from London and has excellent road, rail, and air links to the rest of the UK and overseas.
