The UK Government Chevening Scholarships are open to international students who are applying for one year Masters programmes.

Chevening scholarships are open to applicants from over 160 countries and territories around the world, looking to study an eligible one year taught master’s degree at a UK institution. To be eligible for a Chevening scholarship applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.

  • Return to their country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after their award has ended.

  • Have completed all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable entry onto a postgraduate programme at a UK university by the time they submit their application. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK but may be different depending on the course and university choice.

  • Have at least two years (equivalent to 2,800 hours) of work experience (including voluntary experience).

  • Have leadership skills such as excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the sheer determination to achieve their goals.

  • Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 10 July 2026.
